MEN'S YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTION
Men's Yoga Class Description
This class is for men, specifically and is available to ALL LEVELS of ability. In this class, you will be practicing the principles of Hatha yoga, which focusses on Asanas (physical postures), Pranayama (breath control), Shatkarmas (purifications) and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Our yoga class will have three phases, Phase 1: Activation - 15 min Start with Asanas for stretching the entire body. This helps to activate every joint and muscle tissues. This stimulates the Synovial fluids in the joints. It also increases the flow of blood and nutrients to your muscles to improve flexibility. Phase 2: Strengthening and Balance - 25 min Asanas focus on uniting the body and mind by control and coordination of subtle forces in the body. Every posture has its independent physical benefits to improve the lymphatic, digestive, respiratory, nervous and the endocrine systems. You will learn each posture and its technique in detail along with its benefits. Phase 3: Breathing and Relaxation - 15min Pranayama will be practiced with Alternate Nostril breathing technique. This helps to cleanse and open the nadis. Nadis are the subtle channels that carry Prana or life force through the field of the mind. Once in a month, we will dedicate a class for learning Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Shatkarmas. Since our senses are the portals of the human body, cleansing and purifying will lead to optimal health and energy. The purification techniques practiced are, • Jala Neti (Nasal Cleansing) • Chaksu Dhauti (Eye Cleansing) • Jhiva Dhauti (Tongue Cleansing) • Abhyanga (Self Oil Massage) |
