Gentle/Beginner Yoga

For the beginner student who wishes to have a gentle paced class and mild poses. Perfect for your first experience with yoga, especially if you don't want to 'push' your body.
Breath work, alignment, and meditation will be incorporated.

Level 1/Beginner Yoga

For the beginner student, in this class the fundamentals of yoga asana will be practiced at a comfortable pace for all. Learn the shape and basic alignment of the major poses used in Sun Salutations, standing and seated sequences. Breathing techniques and breath awareness along with body awareness will be highlighted. This is the place to try it out, experience yoga for the first time or get back to basics.
Class length: 1hr 15 min.

Level 1 - 2

Great comprehensive class for new and seasoned practitioners alike. Students will begin to move from one pose to another with the use of the 'flow' (vinyasa) style. Poses will be practiced at comfortable pace for all. Demonstrations of poses will be given and modifications and variations will be suggested for each individuals needs. Breath work, meditation and asana will be blended together to uplift and energize while at the same time creating an overall calmness. Props such as blocks, blankets and straps may be used to assist students in obtaining their fullest potential.
Class length: 1 hr 15 min. and 1.5 hrs

Yin and Yin for Increased Flexibility

In this class, we practice deeply held floor postures to release back, hips, shoulders and legs.  We will hold postures for 2 to 3 minutes at a time, targeting the connective tissue of our hips, pelvis, lower spine and shoulders, allowing our joints to stay mobile as we age.  Because we are relaxing in postures for long periods of time, our practice can be meditative and calming, allowing us to add a quality of stillness to our hectic lives.  A Yin practice can be very rewarding for those with stiffness or chronic pain and is a great aid for learning to sit in meditation. A Yin practice is an ideal complement to your more muscular Yoga practice (e.g. Vinyasa/Flow Yoga), aerobic workouts or strength training.
Suitable for all levels.
Class length: 1 hr 15 mins

Yin-Vinyasa Mix

A combination of the deeper Yin postures followed by graceful beginning/intermediate Vinyasa (flowing movements with breath). Part of the class will be dedicated to Yin postures, the other part of class will be in the Vinyasa style. Enjoy creating a sense of overall balance and wellbeing with this mixed class.
Great for any level student who is ready to flow in and out of postures with ease.
Class length:  1.5 hrs

Yin Yang Flow

An active class that combines static postures with flowing movements. To discover the stillness within the movement, active (yang) postures are complimented by longer-held passive (yin) postures.  While yang postures strengthen the muscles, yin postures help to gently stretch the connective tissues, thus increasing the range of motion, reducing stiffness and minimizing pain in the joints.  The combination of yin and yang in the class helps to restore a healthy balance in body, mind and spirit.
An active class for students of all levels who have freedom of movement .
Class Length: 1 hr 15 mins

Heated Yoga - All Level

This class is offered in a heated space (85-90° in winter, 90° in summer), incorporating a few Sun Salutations along with standing and balancing poses to clear and purify the mind, and twisting poses to help detoxify and purify the body. While focusing on breath and movement one will connect mind and body to facilitate inner healing.
Bring your own yoga mat and beach towel. Come with an empty stomach and open mind. Drink plenty of water 30 minutes after class.
Class length: 1.5 hrs

All Level

Perfect for any level student who can freely move from one pose to another. Each student can modify the pose to fit their needs. Instructors may incorporate alignment techniques in postures with a strong focus on breath and inner awareness. Pranayama (breath and energy expansion) techniques, asana (postural), and meditation techniques will be blended to create a setting for deep introspection and awareness while moving. Offering some variation of Sun Salutations to warm and energize the body, moving through standing and balancing poses and seated poses which strengthen, define, lengthen and tone the entire body. Each class will end with a supine meditation. Designed for all levels but taught at a faster pace than a Level I, Level I/II; not recommended for first timers.
Class length: 1 hr 15 mins

Mixed Level Vinyasa

'Vinyasa' is the synchronization of body movement and breath to create a deep Mind/Body connection. Students will 'flow' through poses, keeping the body in motion for much of the practice while maintaining a focus on breath/body synchronization. Variations of postures will be suggested for different level students, reminding all to practice at their own ability, honoring where their body is. Keep up the pace, or rest for a pose or two; you can make it a 'power yoga' class, if you choose to. Includes multiple Sun Salutations moving through many varieties of standing, balancing, and seated postures. Inversions and backbends may be practiced. Introspective and energizing, appropriate for the student with knowledge of poses and who desires a physical practice blended with deep awareness. Center yourself while enjoying the side effects of flexibility, stamina, and endurance.

Kundalini Yoga (all level)

Kundalini Yoga is not about mastering difficult looking exercises.  It is very user-friendly.  Essentially, if you can breath, you can do it!  Modifications are given for each exercise so everyone can always participate.  Whether you're in shape, out of shape, or wavering between the two, Kundalini Yoga will definitely work for you!  In these classes we will blend breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, chanting and the science of sequencing.  A typical class normally starts with a breathing exercise, followed by some spinal warm-ups and stretching, and finally a special set of movements called a Kriya.  One Kriya might focus on detoxifying the liver, or working through creative blocks, mastering your moods, or possibly developing will-power.  After completing the set we relax on our backs for a few minutes and end class with some form of meditation.  Whatever the focus, by the end of class you will feel energized and relaxed, focused and expansive, all at the same time.
A class that moves you...and not in the way you'd expect!
