Class Schedule & Descriptions
There are no reservations needed for our ongoing classes, so please come on in and find the class that fits your needs.
Yoga Class Descriptions:
Beginner - These classes are paced to allow time for the new student of yoga to learn breath and alignment within movement. Classes include standing postures for developing strength in the foundation, openness in the hips and hamstrings, balancing, seated postures and floor work.
Gentle/Restorative - Gentle movements guided by breath bring freedom in the joints and prepare the body and mind for the stillness and restful restorative poses (complete relaxation with props placed under the body to allow a sense of ‘letting go’).
Gentle Yoga & Guided Meditation (Yoga Nidra) – Prepare the body with gentle breath-centered movement, in order to deeply relax and let-go into a soothing resting pose while being guided into relaxation. Yoga Nidra (called sleep of the yogi’s) works through the conscious, sub-conscious and unconscious to release subtle long-held energy blocks from the entire being, leaving one more clear and open. Consistency is the key.
Boomers & Beyond (Senior’s Yoga) -(this class will start up again in the fall) Perfectly paced and designed for the Baby-Boomer body. Gentle joint releasing and gentle stretching; may be from a chair, or with assistance of the wall. Deepen your breath, increase your energy and stamina as you stretch and move your body.
Prenatal Yoga - Catered specifically for the pregnant woman (who is past their 12th week). These classes empower and prepare women for labor and birth through the practice of postures and breathing while developing strength and a deeper connection to their baby. Support persons are welcome to attend too.
Candlelight All Level - Shedding light on stagnant energy in the body with an intuitive approach, a balance between building strength and stamina while cultivating relaxation. Candlelight creates a sweet ambiance for our practice.
Slow Flow/Stretch - Flowing in and out of each movement (enveloped in breath) becomes a powerful form of meditation and released tight muscles. This class is slower paced than the Vinyasa Flow class, with time for an additional breath in any Sun Salutations, more seated and floor poses.
Vinyasa Flow - A strong class linking postures with movement and breath. The practice of alignment principles and multiple Sun Salutations along with a wide variety of asana to open and free the whole body. Standing poses, back-bends, arm balances and floor work may be included, at your level.
Hot Yoga – In a heated room (between 90-100 degrees). These classes include a variety of postures, from Sun Salutations, standing, seated, back-bends, arm-balances, to floor work. You will sweat – it is required that you bring your own yoga mat and beach towel and hand towel.
All Level – Enjoy a blend of postures with focus on breath and alignment in which variations/modifications are offered for varied levels of students. May include Sun Salutations of sorts, standing, balancing, seated postures and floor work.
Kids Yoga & Art* - Share with your children (4 years old and up) the many calming, focusing and other health benefits of yoga. They will move through a playful selection of poses, share their favorite pose with the class, rest in Savasana while listening to a yoga story, and finish with a simple craft. These classes are alongside adult classes so the whole family can come!
*Kids yoga classes are $5 when parent attends class next door, $10 when child is dropped off.
Community Yoga** - These classes are generally taught by newly graduated Yoga Teachers who wish to hone their skills and find their voice and niche in teaching. Often taught by quite seasoned teachers who wish to ‘give back’ by volunteering for this class. **Community classes are By Love Offering of your choice.
